'Venango Video' is a not-for-profit organization commencing operations in 1975 and incorporated in 1978 to serve
Venango County (Pennsylvania) residents with Public Access (e.g. 'PEG' public, education, government)
Television Programming.

A quick note to clear up some common misconceptions about Venango Video. We are not owned, operated, managed or funded in whole or in part by any other entity including the local cable franchises with whom we 'co-operate'  the PEG channels in Franklin and Oil City. We are not associated with any other broadcasting organization (e.g. PBS, CPB or PCN). Venango Video is an independent Public Access Television 'operator' and not a 'true broadcast' facility, as we do not own or operate television-radio broadcast equipment. Our programming is provided through 'closed circuit' distribution via the franchise owned and operated cable system to franchise subscribers. No part of the franchise cable bill or franchise tax is allotted to Venango Video. Our operating funds are generated primarily through local public donations and sponsorships.

Information listed on this web site includes our programming schedule, which will include more information about the shows we have, are and may be cablecasting. Other information will include volunteer activities, fund raising events and request/volunteer/donor forms, all providing more in-depth information about Venango Video Inc. and our video services.

Venango Video currently serves cable customers of the cities of Oil City and Franklin, Pennsylvania and several communities in between. Our programming is accessible via Comcast and Time-Warner cable systems to about 20,000 Venango County residents.

Venango Video relies solely on the contributions and donations made by it's viewers, volunteers, partners and sponsors.

Venango Video is not financially supported by or associated with PBS (Public Broadcast System), CPB (Corporation for Public Broadcasting) or any other non-profit or government broadcasting entity.
Venango Video receives office and studio space provided by Time-Warner and Comcast through a long standing voluntary sponsorship. Although the FCC mandates certain provisions be made by the franchise cable operators in accordance to franchise agreements with the communities, Venango Video largely operates according to an FCC modeled agreement between Oil City and Franklin city governments and their local franchise cable providers.
